Default Best rock music?

I am looking for some of the best bands out right now. I am looking specifically for rock bands. I need to update my collection, all I have been listening to lately is AC DC and Jimi Hendrix.

Well, if you wanna keep with the line of classics...

YES, Styx, Kansas and Led Zep are some of my favourites. YES = EXTREMELY talented.

Eric Clapton (even though he is more blues rock)
The Doors
Pink Floyd (not entirely rock music, still very good)
Radiohead (same as above)
Coldplay (again, same as above)

Most of the stuff I posted is more laid back type of rock music as I am a laid back individual. So if that isn't your stuff then you can just overlook pretty much everything I said.

Rock with a lil bit of electronic stuff? You want OK Computer. Skip a few albums and you get to Hail To The Theif, which has some good rock tunes, but like OK Computer, they got a lil bit of electro (I like it, but some people don't like electro at all).

Just a note - you're either going to LOVE Radiohead or not like 'em at all. It's funny - with them it's either black or white.. No gray areas.

Ok these are all good, but I have heard them all before. I should have been more specific. I am looking more for underground bands more than anything.

Talkin' to the right guy :3

"B-E-N-D-E-R" is an EXTREMLY good hard rock band - you'll have to order the CD 'cause it's hard to get in stores. I recommened you get a copy of the song Angel Dust or Passion Flower or Isolate to hear what I mean.

"pete." is a lil heavier, but extremely well rounded. Lots of great tunes on their CD.

"Ween" is pretty wierd, but they got some good tunes. I'd recommend listening to the song "Exactly Where I'm At." VERY rock.

"Interpol" has a VERY 60's feel to it. VERY, VERY good band with lots of hits. Take a listen to Obstacle 1 or C'mere to get my point.

"Filter" is rather well known, yet some people never heard of 'em. I dunno if you wanna call them rock - they're rather heavy.. But still good stuff.

"On" has a lil but of electro with his rather up-beat rock/poppy tunes. GOOD stuff - listen to Slingshot and you'll know what I mean.

I got a TON of underdog stuff in my collection - I'll have to dig up some real classics for you. Hell - I'll even send over those songs I was talkin' about.

We are scientist might fit the bill. Their homepage is at www.wearescientists.com and they have two music videos on there. They hit #40 on the UK chart and just realeased With Love and Squalor. They were also on the Late Show with Divid Letterman recently. I like them a lot.

I suggest anything from before the 90's. Queen, Supertramp, AC/DC... basicly anything but the Rolling Stones.

1.You might like radiohead for some reason I can't stand them.

2.Velvet Underground is one of the best rock bands in history just whatever CD you buy don't buy squeeze as its missing Lou Reed and John Cale. They invented Punk and they were the first band to use distortion alot in their guitar solos.

3.The first 3 rolling stones CD's are good after that they start to suck bad.

4.Pink Floyd: Animals- Wish you were here- Saucerful of secrets

5.Jethro Tull is nice but their CD's all sound really different.

6.Any Beatles CD

7.All the Doors CD's except for waiting for the sun.

8.Grateful Dead are good but you have to weed through alot of their CD's to find the good ones.

9. Oh yeah I forgot about phish

Well it all depends on the kind of rock music you like of course...More than one Genre of rock..I myself like all kinds of rock, but I am mostly into heavy stuff.

A Perfect Circle,Tool,Korn,Deftones,System of a down,Opeth,Nightwish,Mudvayne,Disturbed,Metallica, Rammstein..

Alot more, but these are the only ones I really really like on my mind ATM..
